Our Centennial

Presentation was the first Orthodox Christian parish to be founded in Akron, and remains the oldest, continuing Orthodox presence in Summit County. In 1914, on the Feast of the Presentation of Our Lord, forty immigrants from what is present-day Romania, met with Father Solomon Duma, to establish a spiritual home for themselves and their families.

Our Centennial Year will extend from September 2013 until May 2014. The major event of the Centennial Year will be the Patronal Feast, or HRAM, celebrated the weekend of February 1-2, 2014. Be sure to save the dates!

More details will appear on this website as they are finalized.
